I have to apologise to the author because I struggled to give The Basement even one star. This was quite a short story and it wasn’t badly written, but it lacked purpose and meaning. I felt like it was working towards a great ending but I don’t know, maybe it went over my head - I just didn’t get it.I felt like reading this story was a complete waste of my time. In a few months I probably won’t even remember reading it.A charitable one star rating… because I’d feel mean giving it anything less.
